Encourage Others Intentionally

Words are affective.
They can hurt.
They can encourage.
They can tear down.
They can bring up.
They always do something.
Make your words do something amazing.

Simple Steps to Encourage Others Intentionally

1. Learn how they love. Knowing how people love allows us the greatest insight into how we can encourage them. Do they need words of affirmation, gifts, acts of service, physical touch, or quality time? Knowing and understanding others love languages allows you to know how to best encourage someone because you know what they need in order to be encouraged.

2. Pray deeply for them. Ask for their prayer needs, pray for them (immediately) and let them know that you are praying for them. Did you read that, pray for them immediately. From a spiritual perspective, we can not only encourage one another, but we deepen our relationships with each other. Let's face it... we all need more connection, encouragement and prayer.

3. Reach out to them. When an encouraging thought or encouraging word comes to mind, be sure to share it with them. When God lays someone on your heart, reach out to them and let them know that they are being thought of and prayed for.

4. Send them a sweet note. Maybe it is just me, but I LOVE getting mail. Send them a note of encouragement or send them a care package. OR give them a quick call.

5. Simply listen. Do not share. Simply listen. Sometimes our words convolute our conversations. Essentially, we ruin our conversations by our words. Listening... that allows us to invest in others, learn how we can pray for others, and love others well.

6. Do something. We need to be intentional in how we encourage others.

7. Offer words of praise. Our words have POWER. Sometimes more then we realize. Our words have the deep power to affirm. Think about it... other peoples words have the potential to have so much power over you. Tonight my sweet daughter showed me Toby Mac's video "Speak Life". By the end of the video I was sobbing. Our words have the power to kill or give life back into the soul of someone. (watch it)
