sacrifice.

would you sell everything you had to get the one treasure you want?  would you give everything in order to hold the single most precious treasure?  would you sacrifice comfort in order to deeply embrace the treasure?

"the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up.  the in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field."  matthew 13:44

the kingdom of heaven is compared to small things, because its beginning was small; but in this short parable is the representation of great value in itself. if we step back from ourselves, taking positive advantage by embracing it, and completely understand the terms of it and make our own;  there is where we find our salvation.  it is where we find our worth.  what do we need to pursue to obtain the greatest treasure?  we simply need to pursue Christ.  he is our greatest treasure.

ultimately is giving up everything i have worth having the real treasure we find in God through Christ.  the answer is simple.  the answer is yes.  giving up everything is worth receiving the treasure we have in Christ.  God has a treasure he holds dear.  Gods treasure is his kids.  his pursuit of us is great.  it caused his son to die on a cross for the sins of the world.  it cost Christ everything.

we are in pursuit of our sons (not saying that what we are doing is as great as what Christ did but if we are adopted by God... the parallels of physical adoption are the same), mirroring the story of salvation through the experience of adoption.  as Christ followers we are all adopted.  so are they worth it?  what would we give up?  what would we sacrifice?  the answer... anything.  i would sacrifice anything to follow the calling we have been given to adopt our sons.  we are selling things we love.  things we treasure.  in order to bring them home.  because they are worth it.  Jesus is worth it.  he sacrificed everything... so would i.

boys... we are coming.  we are working as hard as possible.  your auntie beth is praying that you would be positively distracted why you wait for us.  we are praying the same.  we are praying we all wait well.  praying you see a little glimpses of Jesus throughout your day.  we see Jesus in your smiles and smirks.

PRAY:
-- we may hear something by the 21st -ish.  pray that this is true.  PLEASE LORD.
-- pray our boys have comfort & love.
-- pray i make it to the 21st with as few tears as possible.
-- that we continue to see the GOODNESS GOD has shown us & continues to show us.
