it's starting to feel like christmas.
& since i live far from friends and family...
i need to get cracking on getting gifts wrapped & shipped.
i usually wrap in brown paper & twine.
this year i am going to add a little bit extra.
this crocheted star & clay tag.
here is how to make the the crochet star... in case you want to make some.
they are super easy!!!

crochet star:
size H8/ 5mm crochet hook

chain 4.  join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
round 1:  ch 2 (counts as first hdc).  9 more hdc into ring (10 hdc).  Join with sl st to beginning ch-2.
round 2: ch 5 (counts as sc + ch-4).  *skip 1 stitch.  SC in next stitch.  ch 4.*  Repeat around to create 5 petals.  Join by working a sc inside the first petal.
round 3: joining sc counts as first sc.  1 hdc, 2 dc, chain 4, 2 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc into first petal.  *Skip sc and into next chain-4 petal work: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc, chain 4, 2 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc*  join by working a sl st into first stitch.
